Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Chemistry Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching of Chemistry across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (IGCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level), inspiring students to achieve their full academic potential while fostering a passion for science.Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons in line with the British curriculum (e.g., GCSE and A-Level specifications such as AQA, Edexcel, or Cambridge).
  • Teach students across KS3, KS4, and KS5, ensuring progression and continuity.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Integrate practical experiments and laboratory work safely and effectively.
Assessment & Progress
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress in accordance with school policies.
  • Prepare students for external examinations (GCSE & A-Level).
  • Provide constructive feedback and targeted support to help students improve.
  • Track student performance data and implement intervention strategies where needed.
Classroom & Laboratory Management
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations in the laboratory.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively in line with school policies.
Curriculum Development
  • Contribute to the development and review of the Chemistry curriculum.
  • Stay updated with changes in exam board specifications and educational practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
Pastoral Responsibilities
  • Act as a form tutor (if required), supporting students’ academic and personal development.
  • Promote student well-being and positive behavior.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
Skills
  • Experience teaching Chemistry at GCSE and A-Level (preferred).
  • Familiarity with British curriculum exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, Cambridge).
  • Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Experience with digital learning tools and modern teaching technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
  • Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).
