- Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations, including HSEQ requirements, using company policies and procedures.
- Receive work orders, review designs, blueprints, specifications, and drawings to plan and schedule daily installation, maintenance, and repair tasks in line with company policies and industry standards, including dimensional tolerances, torque requirements, and mechanical integrity standards.
- Maintain proper documentation, including inspection records, repair history, and spare parts consumption data, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and tool accountability following 5S principles and workshop control procedures.
- Provide technical guidance to junior technicians, allocate tasks based on competency levels, monitor progress and quality of work, and ensure team compliance with safety and OEM standards.
- Demonstrate professional behaviour: accountability, reliability, attention to detail, effective communication with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality), and the ability to perform under time pressure while maintaining high standards.
- Lead the mechanical fitting team and coordinate/schedule equipment installation, repair, and maintenance works per operational requirements.
- Monitor inventory to ensure suitability and availability of equipment, consumables, and stock levels, and coordinate timely replenishment.
- Prepare and submit material requirements to Workshop Manager/Production Engineer and schedule installation/repair works based on delivery timelines.
- Read and interpret general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, sectional views, isometric drawings, hydraulic schematics, and pneumatic circuit diagrams, including engineering symbols, welding symbols, tolerances, fits, and basic GD&T requirements.
- Execute structural assembly: alignment, leveling, shimming, precision measurement, controlled bolt tightening, and verification of structural accuracy using calibrated measuring instruments.
- Install, assemble, and test hydraulic and pneumatic systems (cylinders, pumps, motors, valves, hoses, fittings, air preparation units) with proper routing, cleanliness control, pressure setting, leak testing, and functional performance verification.
- Install and align electric motors, gearboxes, and couplings within the mechanical scope, perform precision alignment, inspect bearings and seals, and verify vibration levels and operational stability in coordination with electrical technicians.
- Conduct systematic troubleshooting and fault diagnosis on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using logical and analytical methods to identify root causes.
- Perform safe dismantling of equipment according to OEM procedures, document as-found conditions, tag components, and prevent damage during disassembly.
- Inspect mechanical components for wear, cracks, corrosion, deformation, and dimensional deviations, and replace defective parts with OEM-approved components ensuring correct fits and clearances.
- Reassemble equipment according to OEM manuals and torque specifications; conduct functional, pressure, load, and performance testing to ensure operational readiness before release.
- Diploma in Engineering or a relevant Engineering field
