The Consultant Critical Care Transplant is responsible for providing expert intensive care management for liver and kidney transplant patients, ensuring optimal outcomes through advanced monitoring, multidisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based treatment strategies.Key Responsibilities
- Lead ICU management of transplant patients including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
- Collaborate with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, and anesthetists for integrated care
- Perform advanced procedures such as invasive monitoring, mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy, and hemodynamic support
- Ensure compliance with international standards and DHA clinical regulations
- Participate in research, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide on-call support and consultations across ICU, emergency, and transplant units
- Mentor junior physicians and contribute to clinical training programs
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Medical degree with specialization in Critical Care Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Fellowship training in Critical Care or Transplant ICU
- Board certification such as UK CCT, American Board, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transplant-related ICU care
- Strong expertise in managing liver and kidney transplant patients
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
