- Oversees the implementation of linen room standards and procedures.
- Opens and closes the shift and ensures effective shift hand over.
- Distributes and collects keys.
- Manages all incoming and outgoing calls to Linen Department
- Solves employee grievances.
- Directs task allocations and changes according to volume and peak periods.
- Performs quality inspections.
- Liaises with Housekeeping for guest and hotel requirements.
- Ensures staff uniforms and hotel linen are processed and delivered in a timely manner.
- Ensures consistency within the department.
- Completes stock-takes as required.
- Conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known.
- Leads employee engagement activities.
- Recommended changes to these standards and training needs on an ongoing basis
- Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all laundry systems.
- Management of all incoming and outgoing calls to Laundry Department
- Make sure the room linen is in good shape and spotless.
- Solve employee grievances.
- Perform quality inspections.
- Prioritize VIP or difficult guests.
- Ensure laundry valet is processed and delivered in a timely manner.
- Co-ordinate special projects (e.g., equipment routine service; stock inventories)
- Manage all special requests made by guests.
- Ensure you have complete knowledge of room types, layouts and facilities and the location of these.
- Supervise laundry storage areas.
- Maintain adequate stock levels.
- Conduct inventories.
- Works with superior in the preparation and management of the department’s budget and is aware of financial targets.
- Recycles where-ever possible and enforces cost-saving measures to staff.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with all internal customers and guests to anticipate their needs.
- Take action to address these needs to exceed their expectations.
- Creates a positive hotel image in every interaction with internal and external customers.
- Adheres to hotel brand standards.
- Maintains a high level of product and service knowledge to explain and sell services and facilities to guests.
- Assists guests and escorts them to locations within the hotel at their request.
- Maintains knowledge of special programs and events in the hotel to recognize and respond to guests needs.
- Maintains current Hotel information to be able to provide information to guests.
- Work effectively with customers and colleagues from different viewpoints, cultures, and countries
- Work to understand and consider the global nature of the business.
- Manage outsourced laundry.
- Manage uniforms and ensure they are up to standard.
- Good level of spoken/written English
- Flexibility in shifts & tasks

- Knowledge about budget (PNL)
- Minimum one year of experience in a similar environment (5* hotel)
