Academic Advisor - New York University Abu Dhabi - Abu Dhabi, UAE

• Provide individualized and group academic advising to new and continuing students each semester
• Guide students on course selection, registration procedures, degree requirements, and major exploration
• Conduct drop-in sessions, one-on-one appointments, workshops, and webinars for incoming and current students
• Support students in defining academic goals and monitoring progress toward degree completion
• Identify and engage students at risk of delayed academic progression and provide proactive outreach
• Serve as a liaison between students and university offices including Registrar, Divisions, Global Education, Academic Enrichment, and Student Support services
• Maintain accurate advising records and student profiles within the NYU Connect platform
• Conduct degree audits, track retention metrics, and prepare advising reports and statistics
• Facilitate academic forms, approvals, and documentation processes
• Contribute to orientation programs, newsletters, website updates, and student communication initiatives

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or related field
• Master's degree preferred in Education, Counseling, or a related academic discipline
• Four to six years of progressive professional experience, preferably in university student advising
• Strong interviewing and academic advising skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• High level of discretion when handling confidential academic information
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Experience using advising platforms and digital productivity tools such as Google Suite or Microsoft Office
• Ability to collaborate across departments within an academic environment
