- Performs technical service to customers, shipyards. Liaises among parties to insure everybody aware and agreed on technical requirements; contributes to quality control by monitoring and advising all stakeholders. 35%
- Supports marine accounts, sales and customers by answering technical questions and solving problems, keeps Company safe by ensuring preventive measures to avoid complaints. 25%
- Aligns and cooperates with Sales, COS, RD&I. 25%
- As technical expert of performance coating paining industry, maintains and updates knowledge on products, and applications methods including for Class0 products (Intersleek, Interline). 10%
- Advises customers and their contractors on HSE aspects related to transportation, handling, storage and use of paint products. 5%
- Together with project leader (Senior TSR or DDM) represents the Company during DD and M&R projects; protect the interests of the Company and provide advice to Customer in the allocated area.
- Provides customer with Technical Service Charter, business card, proposed paint specification and TSPQ, ask customers feedback on personal performance.
- Checks technical suitability of any proposed revision to the agreed paint specification, agrees it in writing with the customer.
- Checks and confirms availability of any product required as the result of a revised paint specification.
- Together with project leader obtains approval of Account Executive for any revised paint specification.
- Produces a final paint specification which should be submitted to the customer.
- Arranges paint deliveries, checks paint on delivery to the shipyard and records all batch numbers, advises the shipyard on suitable paint storage conditions where appropriate.
- Participates in technical inspections (fouling, paint condition, surface preparation and paint application) together with customers, shipyard's and their subcontractor's QC personnel.
- Monitors and records environmental conditions.
- Ensures that paint mixing and thinning (when required) are properly carried out.
- Presents at the initial paint application to set/agree the standard.
- Measures wet and dry film thicknesses or arrange volume/area control as and when appropriate.
- Ensures that maximum and minimum overcoating intervals and time to dock flooding are adhered to.
- Contributes to quality control by monitoring/observing and advising all stakeholders.
- Together with project leader participates in project meetings for DD and M&R projects, where and when required to discuss/resolve/agree an issues relating to inspection and application procedures, special requirements for the coating systems, meeting and reporting schedules, sub-standard work procedures.
- Reports on progress on a continuous base; insures timely and regular reporting during project by maintain a site diary for NB projects and a Project Logbook for M&R projects.
- NACE I or FROSIO II Paint inspector qualification.
- A bachelor's degree is preferable.
- Independent and self-starter in planning and managing work schedules with a high level of personal and professional integrity with limited need of direct management support.
- Good English language skills.
- Good written reporting skills (qualitative and quantitative skills).
- Customer focused communication skills.
- Ability to resolve technical issues effectively.
- Sound knowledge on paint products, application technologies, coating international standards and coating certification.
- Professional Experience
- Minimum 6 years in painting industry (ship building, ship repair).
- Local driving license of residence country.
