Job SummaryThe successful applicant should possess the following skills and experience:
  • Supervising construction works, e.g. rail welding and installation of track works. Relevant to maintenance and operation rules, procedures and instructions (specifications, quality standards, quantity measurements, train safety, construction methodology and risk control);
  • Controlling the implementation of track alignment, track and turnout installations, executed and supervised by others;
  • Asist the QA/QC process of the works and perform QC audits and site surveillance procedures as per the contract;
  • Assists the Construction Manager in tasks as assigned by area or other division of duties;
  • Monitors programme delivery and provide periodic reports on progress of the works to the Construction Manager as required;
  • Lead and support the contractor to achieve best practice in health, safety and welfare, security, environment and construction standards;
  • Manage and mitigate emerging issues and concerns or opportunities that require attention/action to the CM / Senior Construction Manager, and recommend the course of action to take;
  • Monitoring selection of track materials and reviewing track implementation methods as well as works instructions;
  • Liaise with the designers and where necessary review and comment of IFR drawings and attend design workshops foe the works;
  • Providing technical guidance and supervision to the PMT (Project Management Team);
  • Attending meetings with Discipline Leader, Senior Track Work Engineer and construction personnel;
  • Preparing weekly site progress reports and monthly progress reports.
Key requirements for the role
  • Degree in Engineering;
  • Minimum 10 years' experience working on railway infrastructure with a minimum 5 years' experience in track work assignments.
  • Proven people management skills, with the vision and ability to establish cross-functional relationships and drive to deliver integrated infrastructure programme of work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to interact and maintain credibility with people at all levels, including industry stakeholders.
  • Expert knowledge about track alignment is mandatory, experience in track installation
  • Fully understand the aspects of site supervision and construction management of Rail;
  • Proficient in speaking and reading English.
  • Proficient in MS office and CAD software.
