This role involves providing technical leadership, ensuring design excellence, guiding junior engineers, and contributing to strong client relationships and successful project outcomes.Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering design activities, ensuring accuracy, technical quality, and compliance with project requirements and international standards.
- Oversee the development of mechanical systems including HVAC, water supply, drainage, gas, steam, fire protection, and mechanical plant.
- Solve complex engineering challenges using advanced methodologies, modelling tools, and innovative approaches.
- Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and tender documentation.
- Lead mechanical design packages from concept through detailed design, construction, and commissioning support.
- Conduct site inspections, technical reviews, and system performance assessments to ensure alignment with design intent.
- Support multidisciplinary coordination with architecture, electrical, structural, and specialist engineering teams.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and informal supervision to junior and intermediate engineers.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality assurance procedures.
- Engage with clients to understand needs, present solutions, and maintain trusted relationships to support repeat business.
- Identify process improvements and contribute to innovation initiatives across the engineering team.
- Support project managers by monitoring progress, identifying risks, and resolving technical issues to maintain project delivery timelines.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Over 8-10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in building services, industrial systems, or infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in HVAC system design, mechanical plant, piping systems, mechanical equipment selection, and system integration.
- Proficiency in design and modelling software (AutoCAD, Revit, mechanical calculation tools).
- Strong understanding of local and international mechanical codes and standards.
- Experience leading design packages and delivering engineering outputs with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct technical reviews, validate engineering solutions, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Experience preparing specifications, feasibility studies, and technical reports.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to understand project financial and regulatory environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) design.
- Previous UAE experience is highly advantageous.
