The Consultant Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist is responsible for performing complex interventional procedures, managing congenital heart diseases, and ensuring high-quality cardiac care for pediatric patients.Key Responsibilities
- Perform pediatric cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures including device closures, valvuloplasty, and angioplasty
- Manage congenital and acquired heart conditions in neonates, infants, and children
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiac care
- Interpret diagnostic tests including echocardiography, ECG, Holter, and advanced imaging
- Participate in multidisciplinary cardiac case discussions and surgical planning
- Provide on-call coverage for pediatric cardiac emergencies
- Collaborate with cardiologists, surgeons, intensivists, and allied health teams
- Contribute to quality improvement, governance, and protocol development
- Mentor junior physicians and support training programs
- Engage in research, audits, and academic activities
- Medical degree with specialization in Pediatric Cardiology
- Board certification from a recognized authority
- Fellowship in Interventional Pediatric Cardiology
- Minimum 5-10 years of post-fellowship experience
- Strong expertise in advanced pediatric cardiac interventions
