Welding and Metallurgy Engineer Abu Dhabi UAE Oil and Energy industry role with ADNOC Group focused on providing technical expertise in welding, metallurgy, and materials engineering. The role supports plant operations, shutdowns, and projects by ensuring compliance with international standards, improving asset integrity, and resolving complex metallurgical challenges.Core Duties
- Develop and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications and Procedure Qualification Records aligned with international standards
- Provide technical guidance on welding, brazing, cutting, and materials joining activities
- Support shutdowns and projects with metallurgical repair and replacement recommendations
- Conduct welder qualification tests and maintain certification records
- Perform welding audits for contractors and internal fabrication workshops
- Investigate welding failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Participate in incident investigations and technical reviews to improve reliability
- Evaluate materials and welding consumables to ensure compliance with specifications
- Support technical bid evaluations and supplier selection processes
- Provide expertise in metallurgy for plant equipment and material performance issues
- Assist in developing asset integrity strategies and maintenance philosophies
- Ensure compliance with design specifications and safety-critical performance standards
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical capability development across teams
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petrochemical Engineering
- 7 to 10 years of experience in welding and metallurgy within oil and gas industry
- Strong knowledge of fabrication standards for pressure vessels, piping, and storage systems
- Experience in inspection of boilers, furnaces, tanks, and industrial equipment
- Familiarity with international standards such as AWS, API, ASME
- Certifications such as API 510, API 570, or Certified Welding Inspector are preferred
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage technical documentation, audits, and compliance processes
- Work on high-impact asset integrity and engineering projects
- Exposure to advanced welding technologies and metallurgical practices
