- Lead financial oversight for Transport, Maintenance, and soft fleet operations ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with corporate financial policies.
- Manage financial reporting across fleet operations including fuel, maintenance, tolls, leasing, and operational expenditures.
- Develop and implement financial control mechanisms to monitor operational spending and improve cost visibility.
- Ensure accurate accruals, reconciliations, and month-end financial close processes in coordination with Finance.
- Collaborate with operations to establish, validate, and maintain the data sources required to ensure accurate financial and operational reporting.
- Act as the primary finance business partner to operations leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations to support operational decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and operational targets, highlighting risks, cost variances, and improvement opportunities.
- Support strategic initiatives such as fleet optimization, supplier cost management, and operational efficiency programs.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to subordinates to ensure adherence to best practices and accuracy in reporting and analysis.
- Introduce and manage job rotations within the team to enhance skill development, cross-functional understanding, and team capability.
- Lead financial analysis related to fleet costs including fuel consumption, vehicle utilization, maintenance costs, and supplier spend.
- Develop analytical dashboards and reporting tools to support operational and financial decision-making.
- Work closely with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Where existing processes are not aligned with best practices, propose improvements to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely completion of financial and operational tasks.
- Develop recommendations and solutions to operational or financial issues identified through analysis.
- Manage the development and maintenance of financial and operational KPI dashboards for Transport, Workshop and soft fleet operations.
- Provide structured reporting to management highlighting financial performance, operational efficiency, and cost trends.
- Support Balanced Scorecard reporting and performance monitoring.
- Ensure continuous enhancement of costing accuracy by working with operations to validate cost drivers, and review and propose changes in assumptions where relevant.
- Design and implement improved financial reporting processes to enhance transparency and reduce manual reconciliation.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting through integration of telematics, fuel systems, and operational data.
- Lead initiatives to improve financial data quality and reporting accuracy across the business units.
- Drive continuous review of workflows and propose corrective actions where inefficiencies or gaps in data quality are identified.
- Develop integrated reporting frameworks linking fleet telematics, fuel data, and operational systems to financial reporting.
- Drive initiatives to improve financial visibility across large-scale fleet operations
- Champion innovative analytical and reporting techniques to provide deeper insights and actionable recommendations to operations leadership
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA are preferred.
- 5-8 years' experience in financial analysis, business finance, or financial reporting roles.
- Experience supporting operations-driven businesses such as logistics, transport, fleet, or supply chain environments.
- Experience working with large operational datasets and cost structures.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and financial reporting tools.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to translate operational data into financial insights.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement solutions.
