This role contributes to maintaining operational integrity by performing compliance investigations, validating screening alerts, and ensuring adherence to AML and sanctions regulations. It plays a critical role in protecting business operations from financial and regulatory risks.Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate sanctions matches and denied party screening alerts across multiple business units
  • Conduct customer due diligence and KYC reviews to assess compliance risks
  • Analyze transactions, accounts, and escalations to determine risk exposure
  • Perform first-level reviews of screening system escalations with high accuracy
  • Support audit processes and respond to external compliance inquiries
  • Identify operational gaps and recommend corrective actions and remediation steps
  • Assist in improving compliance workflows and escalation handling processes
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and productivity targets
  • Collaborate with operations and compliance teams to strengthen internal controls
  • Provide guidance and support to investigators and operational teams
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in risk or fraud investigations
  • Strong understanding of AML regulations including BSA and OFAC requirements
  • Proven ability to handle complex investigations and compliance escalations
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and make accurate decisions under pressure
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment
  • Fluency in Japanese at business level preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills considered an advantage
