The Senior Reliability Engineer is responsible for enhancing plant reliability and safety by developing and implementing maintenance strategies and leading failure investigations. This role plays a critical part in improving asset performance, reducing downtime, and supporting long-term operational efficiency within complex industrial environments.Key Responsibilities
- Lead investigations of high-risk equipment failures and major incidents and develop mitigation strategies
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for electrical systems
- Standardize maintenance procedures, checklists, and work instructions across plants
- Monitor maintenance performance and ensure compliance with established standards
- Utilize reliability tools such as RCM, FMEA, and RCA to optimize maintenance practices
- Act as focal point for reliability issues and provide technical guidance to maintenance teams
- Participate in audits, benchmarking studies, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Evaluate management of change processes and provide engineering input on modifications
- Support HAZOP studies and identify operational and safety risks
- Manage end-of-life processes for electrical equipment and ensure effective replacement planning
- Identify recurring equipment issues and implement long-term reliability solutions
- Coordinate contracts and vendor support for maintenance and reliability activities
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 7 years of experience in maintenance or reliability engineering in oil and gas or petrochemical industry
- Strong expertise in troubleshooting HV and LV systems, variable speed drives, UPS, and emergency generators
- Hands-on experience with reliability tools such as RCM, FMEA, and root cause analysis
- Knowledge of maintenance strategies, asset integrity, and operational excellence frameworks
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in multinational environments
- Professional certifications such as CMRP or CRE are an advantage
- Electrical systems reliability and troubleshooting
