- Lead the development and deployment of standardized operating procedures across all grocery store formats including hypermarkets and supermarkets.
- Establish structured business cycle processes covering demand planning, ordering, receiving, replenishment, shrink management, hygiene standards, food safety, and operational compliance.
- Ensure operational processes align with commercial strategies, promotions, and category management initiatives.
- Design and oversee store-level demand planning and ordering frameworks to improve forecasting accuracy and inventory availability.
- Improve on-shelf product availability, freshness, and working capital efficiency through disciplined ordering and inventory processes.
- Define clear responsibilities between store teams, supply chain functions, and commercial departments to streamline operations.
- Lead transformation initiatives that improve ways of working, governance structures, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Implement continuous improvement practices such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to increase productivity and eliminate operational waste.
- Design store productivity frameworks including labour standards, scheduling models, and workload planning linked to store sales and operational complexity.
- Ensure strong compliance with commercial standards including pricing, planograms, product range implementation, and promotional execution.
- Partner with merchandising and commercial teams to translate category strategies into effective store execution.
- Optimize receiving, back-of-house processes, and stock handling procedures to improve speed, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Implement structured food waste management programs including prevention, markdown management, recycling initiatives, and sustainability practices.
- Improve collaboration between supply chain and store operations to enhance inventory flow, freshness, and stock availability.
- Define and monitor key operational performance indicators including shrink, waste, labour productivity, service quality, and cost control.
- Establish governance mechanisms, operational audits, and escalation procedures to ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Support capability development by designing operational playbooks, training frameworks, and leadership coaching programs.
- Minimum 15 years of senior leadership experience in grocery retail operations across multi-format environments.
- Proven expertise in operations excellence, store productivity improvement, and large-scale transformation programs.
- Deep understanding of supermarket and hypermarket operating models including fresh and perishable product management.
- Strong cross-functional leadership experience working with supply chain, merchandising, and commercial teams.
