- To support Students of Determination (StOD) ensure each lesson is well-planned and follows departmental schemes of work, the National Curriculum or relevant examination specification. It is expected that all teachers use the Academy provided Teacher Planner or similar/electronic to provide the evidence that these procedures are being followed
- To ensure that each lesson is taught in line with the Academy Policy for Teaching and Learning
- To work with small groups and intervention groups as per identified need
- To mark student’s work in line with the department marking policy
- To assess student’s learning and to monitor their progress in line with departmental assessment and recording policy via Go4Schools
- To keep detailed and accurate records of student’s achievements
- To ensure that students are properly prepared for public and internal examinations
- To maintain good behaviour and discipline within lessons using appropriate rewards and sanctions
- To ensure an atmosphere within lessons that is conducive to learning
- To ensure the health and safety of all students during lessons
- To strive for continuous improvement and be willing to try alternative approaches
- To use comparative data, prior attainment data, and general ability data to set targets for students
- To contribute to the writing and revision of schemes of work
- To contribute to the writing and marking of tests and examinations
- To take part in the sharing of good practice, resources and ideas
- To contribute to the review and evaluation of departmental practice
- To work closely with teachers to ensure the IEPs and alternative pathway plans are robust and actionable
- To liaise with teachers and parents regarding personalised support students require
- To attend department meetings
- To keep abreast of current developments in your subject as far as possible through reading of educational journals and supplements and by attending relevant courses and training sessions
- To set work for classes missed through absence
- To produce examples of high-quality students’ work for corridor displays as required
- To participate in department activities such as field trips, exhibitions, performances etc.
- To fulfil any reasonable additional responsibilities as may be from time to time delegated by the Head of Department

- Hold a Bachelors degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent related to Inclusion and have proven experience of teaching Inclusion
- Have a willingness to collaborate and share their outstanding practice

- Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students and parents
