Role OverviewWe are seeking a DHA‑licensed Specialist Ophthalmologist with strong expertise in anterior segment ophthalmology to join our clinical team in Dubai.Given the operational needs of the department, this role requires a specialist who can reliably and consistently manage both inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) clinical and surgical activity.The successful candidate will support continuity of care across all service areas and contribute to stable, well‑balanced clinic and surgical workflows.This position is best suited to a clinician with solid dual‑setting experience, who is comfortable operating across OP clinics, procedural lists, and IP care pathways.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver specialist‑level ophthalmology care with a focus on anterior segment conditions and surgeryDiagnose and manage cataracts, corneal disorders (including keratoconus, dystrophies, and infections), and anterior uveitisPerform anterior segment surgical procedures including cataract extraction, pterygium excision, intraocular lens implantation, and related interventionsManage both outpatient and inpatient ophthalmology services, including pre‑operative, operative, and post‑operative careEnsure continuity and reliability of coverage across OP clinics and IP services, in line with departmental workflow requirementsConduct vision assessments and prescribe glasses and contact lenses as clinically appropriateInterpret diagnostic investigations such as corneal topography and anterior segment OCTPrescribe and administer ophthalmic medications and maintain accurate, compliant medical recordsCounsel patients on treatment options, risks, outcomes, and preventive eye careCollaborate with referring physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless continuity of careParticipate in clinical audits, CME activities, and quality improvement initiativesContribute to teaching, education, or research activities where applicable
