Range Testing Technician

- Prepare and set up test equipment including chronographs, pressure transducers, Doppler radar, and ballistic measurement instruments.
- Prepare targets, fixtures, weapon mounts, and test barrels prior to testing.
- Conduct ballistic testing such as Pressure, Velocity, Action Time (PVAT/EPVAT) and weapon function testing.
- Assist in ammunition sample preparation, weighing, measurements, and lot identification.
- Ensure range readiness including cleaning, ventilation checks, target setup, and waste management.
- Manage ammunition samples including issuance, return, and disposal according to SOPs.
- Monitor testing activities including weapon mounting, instrumentation setup, and firing operations.
- Apply chamber gauges and maintain calibration status of range equipment.
- Operate and maintain test barrels, weapon systems, and ballistic testing instruments.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of range equipment and instruments.
- Ensure sensors, cables, and data acquisition systems are properly connected and functional.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform authorized field-level repairs or component replacement.
- Maintain logs and reports related to testing activities, equipment condition, and incidents.
- Record and maintain accurate testing data and calibration documentation.
- Maintain records of scrapped and rejected parts according to established procedures.
- Inspect incoming weapons, accessories, and spare parts for conformity, defects, and serial number traceability.
- Maintain inventory requirements for consumable items related to weapons and testing equipment.
- Follow occupational safety and health procedures and safe working practices.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment during testing operations.
- Ensure compliance with range safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Maintain a safe working environment and avoid actions that may endanger personnel or equipment.
Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ammunition proof testing, ballistic testing, or weapons inspection.
- Experience working with ballistic test equipment and weapon systems.
- Strong technical skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication in English.
- Arabic language skills are preferred.
