- Lead and oversee all mechanical site supervision activities (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, LPG, irrigation), ensuring full compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and design intent.
- Review and approve contractor shop drawings, technical submittals, and method statements for all mechanical systems prior to execution.
- Provide technical guidance and decision-making support on complex mechanical issues, site clashes, and design discrepancies.
- Coordinate closely with design teams to resolve RFIs and ensure alignment between design intent and site execution.
- Supervise and direct mechanical inspectors, ensuring inspections, NCRs, and QA/QC processes are executed effectively and consistently.
- Monitor contractor performance, progress, and productivity related to mechanical works, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions.
- Lead testing and commissioning activities for all mechanical systems, ensuring systems are fully functional, compliant, and ready for handover.
- Review and validate progress reports, payment applications, and mechanical completion status.
- Ensure all mechanical works are compliant with local authority requirements (e.g., DCD, DEWA, Municipality) and relevant international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA).
- Support the Resident Engineer in managing project delivery, risk, change management, and reporting.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and inspectors, ensuring technical capability and performance standards are maintained.
- Act as the primary technical interface for mechanical discipline with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders
- Significant Post-Contract Supervision Consultancy and extensive Engineering experience.
- Experience and acumen in managing and working effectively across multi-disciplinary teams and multi-divisional teams.
- Experience and acumen in managing and working effectively across all support services, divisions, internal and external stakeholders not limited to clients, statutory bodies, sub-consultants, contractors etc.
- Significant knowledge and appreciation of industry best practices, SSH’s Policies, Procedures, Manuals, Guidelines, Systems and Applications with the ability to fully implement and comply not limited to QHSE, Contracts, Stakeholder, Risk and Change Management.
- Significant knowledge and appreciation of International and Statutory Authority requirements, codes and procedures with the ability to drive full implementation and compliance across the project.
- Motivated and enthusiastic towards continuous self improvement, and towards line reports to achieve improvement.
- Good people skills, team management acumen and stakeholder management ability.
- Significant command of the English language (written and spoken). Knowledge and command of Arabic and/or other languages is mandatory in RTE’s where required.
