- Lead the economic development workstream as part of the Policy Analysis Team directly under the Policy Analysis Manager and the Strategic Analysis Senior Director.
- Conduct policy analysis, provide insights and policy advice to senior stakeholders focusing on economic development topics (e.g., Foreign Direct Investment, Trade, Innovation, SME development, Competitiveness).
- Conduct research and analysis using a variety of data sources, to evaluate their effectiveness.
- Benchmark strategies/regulation/policies and economic indicators to inform policy advise.
- Monitor and evaluate policy implementation and outcomes, and revise recommendations as needed.
- Prepare reports (mostly PowerPoint) and documents to effectively communicate policy analyses and recommendations.
- Critical revision of policy documents on economic development including insights and evidence-based comments.
- Stay abreast of policy trends and best practices on economic development.
- Proven understanding of economic policy and economic development topics (e.g., Foreign Direct Investment, Trade, Innovation, SME development, Competitiveness)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (including proficiency in PowerPoint and story-lining skills).
- Strong research and data analysis skills (including familiarity with major economic databases)
- Sound quantitative skills (findings always supported by solid data and models).
- Familiarity with government agencies for economic development and public policymaking.
