The Inspector - Materials Testing is responsible for verifying construction materials, site readiness, and execution quality to ensure all works comply with approved specifications, contract requirements, and regulatory standards throughout project delivery.Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect site conditions before construction begins and verify readiness against design requirements
  • Identify obstructions and document existing site conditions including structures and utilities
  • Ensure protection measures are in place for existing assets and surrounding infrastructure
  • Review materials delivered to site for compliance with approved specifications and samples
  • Monitor proper storage and handling of construction materials
  • Inspect both temporary and permanent works to ensure alignment with contract documents and approved drawings
  • Maintain daily logs, inspection records, and testing documentation in accordance with project procedures
  • Observe safety practices on site and report concerns to the Resident Engineer
  • Assist in final inspections, punch list preparation, and project handover processes
  • Support monitoring of testing, commissioning, and operational readiness
  • Review RFIs and contractor variations, providing recommendations for resolution
  • Analyze drawings and specifications to enforce compliance and reporting accuracy
Ideal Profile
  • Strong experience in materials testing and civil inspection within infrastructure projects
  • Background in roads, bridges, or transportation-related construction
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures and field sampling techniques
  • Experience working within UAE or Middle East construction environments preferred
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and enforce project specifications
  • Strong reporting skills and attention to detail
