The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for overseeing project costs, managing contracts, and ensuring that all financial aspects of construction projects are controlled and optimized. This role plays a key part in maintaining project profitability and supporting successful delivery within budget constraints.Key Responsibilities
- Measure and price project works based on drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities
- Manage post-contract activities including interim payments, final accounts, and variations
- Prepare and review contractual correspondence and commercial documentation
- Provide advice on contractual matters and ensure compliance with agreements
- Monitor contractor resource allocation and project expenditures
- Audit contractor payments and ensure accuracy of submitted valuations
- Track work progress and maintain records of completed work quantities
- Prepare variation orders, day works, and cost adjustments
- Monitor final cost estimates and maintain expenditure tracking systems
- Review, negotiate, and settle claims with contractors
- Coordinate team activities and ensure timely completion of commercial tasks
- Prepare financial statements and monthly cost reports for management
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 8 years of experience in large infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of pre-contract and post-contract administration
- Experience in cost control, claims management, and contract negotiations
- Familiarity with construction documentation and specifications
- Good communication and analytical skills
