The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for overseeing project costs, managing contracts, and ensuring that all financial aspects of construction projects are controlled and optimized. This role plays a key part in maintaining project profitability and supporting successful delivery within budget constraints.Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and price project works based on drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities
  • Manage post-contract activities including interim payments, final accounts, and variations
  • Prepare and review contractual correspondence and commercial documentation
  • Provide advice on contractual matters and ensure compliance with agreements
  • Monitor contractor resource allocation and project expenditures
  • Audit contractor payments and ensure accuracy of submitted valuations
  • Track work progress and maintain records of completed work quantities
  • Prepare variation orders, day works, and cost adjustments
  • Monitor final cost estimates and maintain expenditure tracking systems
  • Review, negotiate, and settle claims with contractors
  • Coordinate team activities and ensure timely completion of commercial tasks
  • Prepare financial statements and monthly cost reports for management
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in large infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of pre-contract and post-contract administration
  • Experience in cost control, claims management, and contract negotiations
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and specifications
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
