The Consultant Neurosurgeon Cranial is responsible for delivering specialized surgical care for patients with complex neurological conditions, ensuring precision in surgical intervention, and enhancing patient outcomes through advanced techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage cranial neurosurgical conditions including tumors, trauma, vascular disorders, hydrocephalus, and skull-base pathologies
  • Perform advanced cranial surgeries using microsurgical and minimally invasive approaches
  • Lead multidisciplinary case discussions with neurology, ICU, oncology, radiology, and rehabilitation teams
  • Oversee pre-operative assessment, surgical planning, intraoperative decisions, and post-operative care
  • Ensure adherence to international clinical standards, patient safety, and quality protocols
  • Contribute to clinical governance, service development, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in teaching, mentoring, and development of junior medical staff
  • Support research activities, audits, and innovation in neurosurgical practices
Ideal Profile
  • Board certification such as CCT, FRCS, or equivalent in Neurosurgery
  • Minimum 5-7 years of post-specialty experience in cranial neurosurgery
  • Proven expertise in managing complex neurosurgical cases
  • Experience working in tertiary or academic healthcare centers
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
