The Consultant Hematologist Benign is responsible for providing expert care for patients with non-malignant hematological conditions, ensuring accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and long-term disease management aligned with clinical best practices.Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage benign hematological conditions including anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, and bleeding disorders
- Interpret bone marrow biopsies, peripheral blood smears, and laboratory investigations
- Collaborate with internal medicine, oncology, and transfusion services for integrated patient care
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical case discussions
- Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Engage in teaching and mentoring junior doctors and healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare standards
- Medical degree with specialization in Hematology
- Board certification such as CCT, FRCP, FRCPath, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in benign hematology
- Eligibility for DHA licensing or equivalent authority
- Strong diagnostic and clinical management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
