- Perform and lead safety studies such as HAZID / HAZOP / SIL / LOPA / QRA / ALARP assessment
- Develop and review Fire & Gas Detection layouts, Fire Protection philosophies and systems, Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems, Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) drawings, Conduct consequence modeling (fire, explosion, gas dispersion)
- Ensure designs comply with ADNOC Codes of Practice (COPs), International standards (API, NFPA, IEC, ISO)
- Review EPC deliverables including P&IDs, Plot Plans, Layouts, Cause & Effect charts
- Ensure safety is embedded in design (inherently safer design principles)
- Identify project risks and recommend mitigation measures
- Support ALARP demonstrations and safety justifications
- Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and model reviews
- Design and review firewater systems, firefighting equipment, and passive fire protection
- Develop fire and gas philosophy documents
- Ensure compliance with NFPA and ADNOC fire safety requirements
- Interface with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines, Clients (ADNOC / PMC), vendors, and third parties
- Provide technical guidance during FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Execution phase
- Prepare and review Safety Basis documents, Safety Philosophies, Risk Registers, Safety study reports, Support project audits, HAZOP close-outs, and regulatory submissions
- Provide safety engineering support during Construction and pre-commissioning, Site safety reviews and audits
- Address technical queries (TQs) and site modifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Safety, or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10-15 years' experience in oil & gas EPC projects
- Extensive experience with ADNOC standards and COPs
- Proven track record in leading safety studies (HAZOP, QRA, etc.)
- Experience in major EPC contractors or PMC roles
- Strong knowledge of: Process safety and risk assessment methodologies and Fire protection and explosion analysis
- Familiarity with tools such as PHAST, Flaresim, or equivalent modeling software
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
- Professional certifications such as: NEBOSH / IOSH
- Certified Functional Safety Engineer (CFSE)
- Membership in recognized engineering bodies is an advantage
