Job DescriptionGEMS Al Barsha National School is seeking outstanding and passionate Science Teacher (specialising in Physics) to join our dedicated team in August 2026. You will play a key role in supporting our students to achieve academic excellence while nurturing a lifelong interest in Science.As a member of our Science Department at GEMS Al Barsha National School, you will deliver engaging, practical, and challenging lessons across your specialist subject, helping students develop their understanding of key scientific principles, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. Beyond the classroom, you will actively contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities, school events, and ongoing departmental development.Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in your Science specialism (Physics) that inspire and engage students across varying ability levels.
  • Foster curiosity and scientific literacy through experimental, inquiry-based learning.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress, using data to inform teaching and differentiation.
  • Maintain an inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners and promotes academic excellence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Science Department to develop innovative schemes of work and share best practice.
  • Communicate effectively with parents to provide regular updates on student progress and achievement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development opportunities, and co-curricular activities.
  • Uphold GEMS Education’s Core Values and the ethos of Al Barsha National School at all times.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through events, competitions, and science enrichment opportunities.
SkillsQualifications & Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or a related field, with specialism in Physics, plus a recognised teaching qualification/licence (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Strong subject knowledge within your area of specialism.
  • Proficiency with ICT and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.

Experience
  • Minimum of two years’ teaching experience, ideally within the National Curriculum for England.
  • Experience teaching in an international or culturally diverse setting is advantageous.
