Work Location: Manila, Singapore, Hong Kong, or Remote (with business travel as required)Position OverviewThe Director of Risk & Compliance is responsible for leading the company's global risk management and compliance strategy. This role ensures business operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements across multiple jurisdictions while supporting sustainable and compliant growth.Key ResponsibilitiesRisk & Compliance StrategyDevelop, implement, and continuously improve enterprise-wide risk management and compliance frameworksEnsure company operations comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and licensing requirements across jurisdictionsAML, KYC & Fraud PreventionOversee KYC, AML, and anti-fraud frameworks, including user behavior monitoring, transaction analysis, and fund flow risk managementEstablish controls to detect, prevent, and respond to money laundering, fraud, and financial crime risksLicensing & Regulatory OversightLead or support regulatory licensing applications, renewals, and ongoing compliance obligationsCoordinate with internal stakeholders and external advisors across regulated jurisdictionsData Protection & PrivacyManage data protection and privacy compliance initiatives, including GDPR, PDPA, and related regulationsStrengthen data governance, security, and user privacy controlsCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with legal, finance, payment, and operations teams to optimize risk controlsEnhance transaction monitoring, blacklist management, user tiering, and internal control mechanismsMonitoring, Reporting & AdvisoryProduce regular compliance reports, risk assessments, and internal reviewsProvide early-warning indicators and mitigation recommendations for key business initiativesTrack global regulatory developments in gambling, financial services, and paymentsTeam LeadershipLead, develop, and evaluate the risk and compliance teamEstablish training programs, performance standards, and succession planningRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in Law, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field8+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or regulatory roles, including leadership experienceStrong knowledge of AML, KYC, anti-fraud frameworks, and compliance standardsExperience supporting or managing regulatory licensing and ongoing compliance in regulated industriesStrong analytical, risk assessment, and crisis-management capabilitiesProfessional proficiency in English, with experience working in multinational or cross-border environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience in gaming, gambling, fintech, payments, or financial services industriesProfessional certifications such as ACAMS, ICA, CAMS, or CFEFamiliarity with virtual currency or digital payment risk and compliance frameworksExperience engaging with international regulators or external legal advisorsCompensationMonthly Salary: Competitive and negotiable, based on experience and qualificationsAdditional Incentives: Performance bonus, year-end bonus, and potential equity participationBenefitsBenefits may include, subject to local laws and eligibility:Flexible working arrangementsMedical and health insurance coverageHousing or relocation support (where applicable)Travel allowances for business travelProfessional development and training supportHoliday and leave benefits in accordance with local regulations
