The Specialist Gastroenterologist is responsible for providing specialized care for patients with gastrointestinal conditions, ensuring accurate diagnosis, effective treatment planning, and continuous monitoring aligned with clinical best practices.Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal conditions including GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, and peptic ulcers
- Perform endoscopic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy
- Interpret diagnostic investigations including imaging, laboratory tests, and biopsy results
- Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations, including emergency gastrointestinal assessments
- Collaborate with dietitians, surgeons, and radiologists for comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education programs
- Educate patients on lifestyle, diet, and long-term disease management
- Medical degree with specialization in Gastroenterology
- Specialist certification such as MRCP, Arab Board, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in hospital or clinical settings
- Eligibility for MOH or UAE licensing authority
- Strong diagnostic and procedural expertise
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Fluency in English or Arabic preferred
