The Specialist Gastroenterologist is responsible for providing expert care in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal conditions, ensuring accurate assessment, effective treatment, and long-term patient management.Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat gastrointestinal conditions including GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, and peptic ulcers
- Perform endoscopic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy
- Interpret diagnostic investigations including imaging, laboratory results, and biopsies
- Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations including emergency GI assessments
- Collaborate with dietitians, surgeons, and radiologists for integrated patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
- Participate in clinical audits, CME activities, and quality improvement initiatives
- Educate patients on lifestyle, diet, and disease management
- Medical degree with specialization in Gastroenterology
- Specialist certification such as Arab Board, MRCP, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience
- Eligibility for UAE MOH licensing
- Strong procedural and diagnostic expertise
- Excellent communication and patient-centered care skills
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Fluency in Arabic or English preferred
