- The overall responsibility for instrumentation estimation and support to the proposals and estimation team.
- Review tender documents and identify the instrumentation scope of work and provide estimation basis.
- Work closely with other disciplines and contribute to overall estimation basis for the proposals.
- Contribute to technical proposals and able to present to Client / End User when required.
- Establish instrumentation estimation basis and benchmarks for discipline within the organization and update as per the changes in market norms.
- Evaluate tender ITT / ITB documents, drawing, specification, and Project schedules and understand the instrumentation scope of work.
- Preparation of cost sheet like direct cost, indirect cost, temporary facilities, and other related cost to tender.
- Floating enquiries to suppliers / manufacturers / subcontractors as required.
- Prepare and review datasheets, control wiring diagrams, and hook-up drawings, cable schedule, instrument index, I/O list, loop drawings, termination diagrams, cause and effect charts, & P&ID’s.
- Identify potential issues or areas of risk and communicate with Proposals & Estimation Manager.
- Collaborate with other intra-company and other estimators to ensure that estimate are accurate and complete.
- Review and evaluate project tender documents (ITT / ITB), drawings, specifications, datasheets, and project schedules to identify the cost estimation basis.
- Prepare and float inquiries to suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors, and review and validate estimates from sub-vendors.
- Prepare detailed bills of quantity and verify material take-offs during the tender stage, and support the project team during execution.
- Prepare cost sheets for construction packages for the main contractor.
- Conduct cost comparisons between suppliers and subcontractors and identify key cost-driving factors.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and summaries for instrumentation scope, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, overheads, contingencies, and profit margins.
- Contribute to commercial proposals and provide a detailed basis for the related scope of work.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors on commercial aspects of the scope and products.
- Prepare and review datasheets, control wiring diagrams, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, instrument index, I/O list, loop drawings, termination diagrams, cause and effect charts, and P&IDs.
- Review tender documents related to instruments, DCS, ESD, RTU, SCADA, Telecom, and Fire & Gas (F&G) systems.
- Contribute to the project execution plan and prepare technical proposal write-ups for the related scope of work.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients on instrumentation-related issues.
- Bachelor's degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 08+ years of experience and 05 years as an Estimation Engineer, preferably in the electrical engineering domain.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
- 8–12 years of experience in oil & gas, with at least 3–5 years in estimation/tendering.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems and materials.
- Experience in ADNOC or similar Middle East projects preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, drawings, and specifications.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and estimation tools.
- Strong analytical and commercial awareness.
- Knowledge of international standards (IEC, ISA, API).
- Familiarity with vendor databases and costing benchmarks.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to review and analyze datasheets, single-line diagrams, specifications, and cable schedules.
- Experience in preparing accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for electrical projects.
- Excellent skills in preparing cost sheets, including direct costs, indirect costs, temporary facilities, etc.
- Sound knowledge of contract and commercial terms and conditions.
- Proficiency in conducting cost comparisons and preparing technical and commercial proposals.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle both technical and commercial aspects.
- Familiarity with ISO documentation requirements and record keeping.
- Attention to detail and ability to verify material take-off for accuracy.
