The Inspector - Materials STP is responsible for verifying materials, equipment, and installation practices for sewage treatment plant projects, ensuring all components meet approved specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities
- Inspect site conditions before construction activities and confirm readiness for STP works
- Identify potential obstructions and document existing utilities and infrastructure
- Ensure protection measures are in place for existing facilities and surrounding assets
- Review materials and equipment delivered to site for compliance with approved specifications and submittals
- Verify proper storage and handling of materials including valves, piping, and mechanical components
- Inspect construction of temporary and permanent works to ensure alignment with approved drawings and QA QC standards
- Maintain daily logs, inspection records, and testing documentation as per project procedures
- Monitor site safety compliance and report any hazards or concerns to the Resident Engineer
- Assist in final inspections, punch lists, testing, commissioning, and handover processes
- Review RFIs and material-related variation requests, providing technical recommendations
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure proper installation and usage of materials
- Strong experience in material inspection within STP or water infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of international standards such as BS, ASTM, and Dubai Municipality regulations
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure and wastewater treatment projects
- Ability to verify material compliance and enforce quality standards on site
- Strong technical documentation and reporting capabilities
