This role is focused on delivering comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology services, combining surgical expertise, diagnostic accuracy, and patient-centered care to improve vision health in children while contributing to academic and clinical development within the healthcare system.Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage pediatric eye conditions including strabismus, amblyopia, congenital cataracts, glaucoma, and developmental disorders
- Perform advanced pediatric ophthalmic surgeries including strabismus correction and anterior segment procedures
- Conduct ROP screening and provide appropriate treatment for premature infants
- Manage complex cases involving congenital and developmental eye disorders
- Provide specialized care in uveitis and ocular inflammatory conditions including immunosuppressive therapy management
- Collaborate with pediatricians, rheumatologists, and other specialists for integrated patient care
- Perform advanced diagnostic procedures and interpret imaging results
- Contribute to teaching, research, and academic initiatives within the department
- Maintain accurate patient records and follow clinical and regulatory standards
- Medical degree with completed residency in Ophthalmology
- Fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus
- Additional fellowship or experience in Uveitis or Ocular Immunology preferred
- Board certification or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship clinical experience
- Eligibility for consultant-level licensing in UAE
- Strong expertise in pediatric ocular surgery and complex eye conditions
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary healthcare environments
