- Responsible for all aspects of Mechanical (HVAC) design delivery on assigned projects.
- Lead, manage, and take full ownership of the Mechanical Design team to ensure accurate, high quality, and timely project deliverables.
- Demonstrate solid understanding of all building services disciplines and how they interface with mechanical systems.
- Direct and mentor engineering staff with clear, detail oriented instructions and strong leadership presence.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with all project disciplines and stakeholders on a daily basis.
- When required, coordinate with teams across Stantec’s global offices.
- Liaise directly with Clients, Statutory Authorities, and other third parties, representing the discipline professionally.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of project budgeting requirements and support project or bid development as needed.
- Show ownership for team quality, project timelines, and successful delivery outcomes.
- Maintain all project documentation in full compliance with Stantec systems, processes, and procedures.
- Anticipate challenges and project risks, recommending appropriate mitigation measures and communicating them internally to the Commercial Team, and externally to Clients/Client Representatives where necessary.
- Mentor junior and mid level engineers to develop technical proficiency and design competency.
- Demonstrate the ability to act as a discipline-specific Senior Design Engineer as defined by Stantec procedures.
- A discipline specific Mechanical Building Services Engineer with demonstrable career progression and proven leadership of design teams.
- 12+ years of post graduate experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Middle East, preferably within the UAE.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of delivering clear, concise, and detailed directions to engineering staff.
- Full understanding of standard industry software relevant to HVAC and building services design.
- Experience working with international consultants.
- Experience working within a team environment of 10+ personnel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Role resides within the Built Environment Design Division.
- Reports to the Head of Discipline on internal matters.
- Reports to the Project Director/Project Manager for project‑specific matters.
