This role oversees the full design lifecycle of marine and port development projects, from concept planning to final construction documentation. The Design Manager ensures alignment between business objectives, engineering requirements, and stakeholder expectations while maintaining quality and compliance throughout the design process.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead preparation of prequalification criteria and request for proposal documents for marine projects
  • Develop project execution plans during pre-construction stages
  • Engage stakeholders and end users to define project requirements and objectives
  • Manage design consultants and oversee design agreements through all project phases
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with marine standards
  • Review design submissions, reports, and technical specifications for accuracy and quality
  • Support preparation of engineering aspects for EPC and design build contract documentation
  • Oversee development of functional requirements, layouts, and conceptual designs
  • Lead planning of port and marine facilities including operational and asset layouts
  • Ensure alignment of design outputs with project scope, timelines, and business goals
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with strong technical background
  • Master's degree is preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in design management for marine or port projects
  • Proven expertise in ports and marine infrastructure development
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards, regulations, and project delivery processes
  • Experience managing design consultants and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in engineering design software and technical tools
