- Assist the Chef in daily kitchen operations and maintain high-quality culinary standards.
- Prepare ingredients and cook dishes following the established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to provide seamless dining experiences for our guests.
- Perform basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Assist in the proper storage and labeling of food items to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Learn and execute proper cooking techniques for various dishes on the menu.
- Assist in inventory management by reporting low stock levels and participating in regular stock counts.
- Maintain kitchen equipment in clean and operational condition, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Participate in menu development by suggesting ideas and assisting with recipe testing.
- Ensure timely preparation of mise en place for assigned station or recipes.
- Adapt to fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously during peak service hours.
- Continuously improve culinary skills through on-the-job training and by seeking guidance from senior kitchen staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role in a five-star hotel.
- Strong culinary skills, knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques, and attention to detail in food presentation.
- Food Safety Certification required.
- Proficiency in knife skills and operation of standard kitchen equipment.
- Basic understanding of food cost control and inventory management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Passion for culinary arts and commitment to continuous learning.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in food preparation.
