Project accounting, WIP, revenue recognition, progress billing, retention, VAT, cash flow, and reporting.
  • Lead the calculation and monitoring of Work-in-Progress (WIP) for all active construction projects to ensure accurate financial representation.
  • Implement and enforce revenue recognition policies in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 15 or ASC 606).
  • Oversee the preparation and issuance of progress billing statements to clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage retention tracking, including calculations, documentation, and release timelines in coordination with project teams.
  • Ensure full compliance with VAT regulations and oversee timely filing of tax returns and related submissions.
  • Develop and maintain robust cash flow forecasts to support project planning, budgeting, and executive decision-making.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports for senior management, project teams, and stakeholders, highlighting performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, procurement, and internal audit to resolve financial discrepancies and strengthen internal controls.
  • Support financial audits and regulatory reviews with complete, accurate documentation and analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in construction or engineering project finance, with a strong track record in project accounting.
  • In-depth knowledge of WIP valuation, revenue recognition principles, and progress billing processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Solid understanding of VAT regulations and compliance within the construction sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
