This role will be responsible for Middle East countries on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Aftersales, the Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, either remotely or hands on, to end user customers via our authorized dealer network.This role will be responsible for providing technician support and mentoring, mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis and final rectification. To provide on-field support for any Lotus product related matters including Warranty, Customer Services, Quality, new model launches, service and recall campaigns and promotional eventsWhat you'll do:Provide a high level of technical support to the dealer network, through diagnosis, fault finding and final rectification for both petrol engine and electric carsResolve all product related issues including chassis, suspension, body, paint, trim, powertrain, electrical, engine management diagnostics etc on both ICE, PHEV and BEV vehicles, escalating any quality issuesRespond to technical requests from authorized repairers in a timely manner to resolve customer needs, either remotely or in person when neededCreation of processes and guidelines to optimize technical inquiries and to increase the self-solution rate at the dealersMentor technicians and provide training academy supportSupport Customer Services and Warranty in the resolution of customer issues within the networkTo keep pace with the latest technical developments in the automotive industry & all Lotus product information in an up-to-date and orderly mannerTo ensure that all work and authorised repairer visit reports are kept fully up to date and forwarded to the relevant people in a timely mannerAssist with the Over-The-Air software rollout to the end-customers and its relevant issues along the software delivery processAny other tasks assigned by the management, include but not limited to: Assisting with resolving customer complaints in a timely manner, assisting with business communications to importer/retailers, and assisting with vehicle / parts / aftersales homologation as and when requireWhat you'll bring:Essential:
Degree / Diploma level in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, automotive or similar) is an advantageHigh automotive technical qualification (Diagnostic / Master technician preferred)High Voltage Expert (IMI qualification level 3 or higher)Extensive whole vehicle diagnostic knowledge, High Voltage System and EVsWork experience in a car dealership/workshop, OEM experience (manufacturer, NSC, regional office) is an advantageAt least 7-10 years of proven experience in the automotive industry in technical areas, retail and/or regional officeUnderstanding of the entire after-sales process in a workshop from customer reception to workshop processes and parts supplyKnowledge of warranty processes and body work would be an advantageGood communication skills are essential, specifically the ability to communicate detailed instructions with technical and non-technical staff from different marketsAbility to speak and write English at a technical levelA customer centric approach to every aspect of aftersales operationsConsistently deliver on promises and commitmentsWilling to engage directly with end user customs in sometimes challenging and sensitive situationsAccurate and concise report writing and proficient use of Excel/Word/PowerPointMust be prepared to travel at short notice (Travel requirement: 25% - 50%)Must hold a full, clean driving licenceRole will be based in DubaiDesirable:Knowledge of common automotive materials, their properties, and manufacturing processes and techniquesAble to speak Arabic and/or French and/or Mandarin is a plusAbout LotusLotus Cars is based in Hethel, Norfolk, UK, and is the global headquarter for sports car and hypercar manufacturing operations, the Lotus Advanced Performance Centre and the iconic 2.2-mile test track.Lotus builds world-class high-performance cars, born out of legendary success on the racetrack including 13 FIA Formula 1 world titles and many other championship honours.
