Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly-motivated Research Assistant (RA) with an interest in medicinal chemistry to contribute to a mechanistic project focused on the study of metal-ligand interactions to help design safer, more potent, and more stable histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors for applications in solid tumors and neurological diseases. Major responsibilities include: •Conducting UV–Vis metal chelation studies to evaluate interactions between synthesized ligands and biologically relevant metal ions (e.g., Zn²⁺, Fe²⁺, Co²⁺). •Performing and analyzing electrochemical experiments, including cyclic voltammetry, to investigate ligand–metal interactions and redox behavior. •Carrying out Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations to model low-energy ligand–metal complexes and support experimental observations. •Analyzing and reporting experimental/computational results The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry (Organic, Medicinal, Physical, or Biochemistry) and have prior experience or strong interest in spectroscopy, computational chemistry, or coordination chemistry. Familiarity with medicinal chemistry concepts is an advantage.
