The Inspector - Civil Roads conducts detailed site inspections, supervises contractor activities, verifies measurements, and maintains accurate records to ensure road construction works meet approved requirements. The role plays a key part in quality control, safety compliance, and timely resolution of site issues across infrastructure projects.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of road construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, contracts, and safety standards
- Supervise and coordinate contractor activities to meet project requirements and timelines
- Prepare daily inspection reports covering work progress, materials, testing results, and observations for the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle
- Perform site measurements and basic surveying checks for alignments and levels as required
- Identify site issues and coordinate with the project team to resolve them promptly
- Monitor and record contractor manpower, equipment utilization, and material testing
- Assist in preparing project correspondence, reports, and documentation
- Participate in client inspections and coordinate with stakeholders
- Oversee start-up, commissioning, and handover activities for site works
- Conduct audits to ensure works conform to contract documents and approved contractor submissions
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and report any violations
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of experience in road and infrastructure projects, including UAE experience
- Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Practical experience in site supervision, inspection, and quality control
- Understanding of local construction codes, regulations, and safety requirements
- RTA approval is preferred
