The Senior Civil Inspector is responsible for day-to-day site supervision and inspection of civil works, monitoring contractor performance, enforcing QA QC and HSE requirements, verifying measurements, and maintaining accurate site records. The role ensures works are executed in accordance with contract documents, local authority regulations, and approved schedules.Key Responsibilities
- Ensure contractor compliance with project standards, specifications, and approved drawings
- Maintain daily records of contractor manpower, equipment, and site activities
- Carry out site supervision and inspections as directed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
- Liaise daily with contractors to ensure effective management of resources, safety, and equipment
- Prepare daily reports covering work progress, inspections, materials delivery, and site activities
- Implement and follow up on site instructions issued by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
- Apply and enforce all quality assurance and quality control procedures on site
- Perform site measurements and surveying checks including alignments, levels, and elevations
- Coordinate with client representatives during inspections alongside the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
- Monitor contractor QA QC activities and maintain related records
- Assist with preparation of correspondence, reports, and documentation in line with contract requirements
- Identify site issues and support prompt resolution with the project team
- Monitor start-up, commissioning, and handover of civil infrastructure works and record milestones
- Maintain records of material tests, inspection reports, and executed works
- Conduct audits to verify conformity with contract documents and approved contractor submissions
- Issue NCRs and SORs for non-conformances and follow up on corrective actions
- Review RFIs and technical submittals and provide recommendations to the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
- Monitor contractor progress against approved schedules and report delays or risks
- Ensure compliance with local authority requirements including RTA, DM, DEWA, and support NOC processes when required
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure proper integration of civil works
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements and report violations immediately
- Participate in site meetings, coordination sessions, and technical discussions
- Conduct final inspections and punch list verification prior to milestones or handover
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the UAE on civil or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of UAE local authority procedures, standards, and regulations
- Proven experience in site supervision, inspection, and QA QC
- Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills
