Job Summary: We are seeking a professional Swimming Instructor to deliver high-quality swimming instruction to individuals and groups of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers. The ideal candidate will create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment, enhance clients' swimming skills, and actively contribute to the growth and success of our swimming programs. This role also involves promoting water-based fitness programs, driving lesson and retail sales, and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Swimming Instruction & Program DeliveryConduct individual and group swimming lessons for all skill levels.Develop personalized training plans to improve swimming techniques, stamina, and water safety.Implement effective teaching techniques and drills to enhance clients' confidence and abilities.
2. Safety & Risk ManagementEnsure the safety and well-being of all swimmers during lessons.Monitor pool areas, identify potential hazards, and take appropriate safety measures.Respond to emergencies promptly and administer first aid when needed.
3. Client Engagement & Customer ServiceEstablish a welcoming and supportive environment for all clients.Monitor client progress, provide feedback, and adjust lesson plans as required.Handle client concerns professionally and maintain positive relationships.
4. Revenue Generation & Retail SalesPromote and sell private lessons, group classes, and swimming packages.Encourage clients to purchase swim-related products, such as swimwear and accessories.Meet personal and team sales targets by upselling additional services and programs.
5. Swimming Pool Maintenance & CleanlinessMaintain a clean, hygienic swimming pool environment and ensure water quality standards.Coordinate with maintenance teams to monitor pool conditions, cleanliness, and chemical levels.Ensure poolside equipment is organized and ready for use during lessons.
6. Professional DevelopmentParticipate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance instruction skills.Attend fitness team meetings to share knowledge and improve collaboration.Maintain current certifications, including CPR, first aid, and swimming instruction qualifications.
7. Group Program LeadershipLead water-based fitness programs, such as aqua aerobics or water resistance training.Ensure classes are engaging, effective, and enjoyable for all participants.
8. Event Participation & Brand PromotionParticipate in swimming events, workshops, and promotional activities to raise program awareness.Promote swimming programs via social media, word-of-mouth, and other marketing channels.
9. Emergency ResponseComplete BLS training and remain prepared for emergency situations.Support guest and staff safety during emergencies.
Qualifications & Requirements:Certified swimming instructor with relevant qualifications.Current CPR and first aid certifications.Strong knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.Ability to lead group classes and motivate clients of all skill levels.Sales-driven mindset with the ability to meet targets.
Working Conditions:Poolside environment with exposure to varying water temperatures.Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as per schedule.
