This role is essential in maintaining product quality across the grocery supply chain by conducting inspections, enforcing standards, and supporting vendors. It directly impacts customer trust, operational efficiency, and waste reduction within Amazon's ultra-fast grocery business.Key Responsibilities
- Inspect quality of meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables, eggs, and perishable items during inbound processes
- Reject damaged or defective items and record detailed rejection data by vendor and quantity
- Audit picking and packing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Monitor packaging standards and ensure adherence to operational guidelines
- Conduct daily bin audits and share reports with stakeholders
- Train store and hub associates on quality standards, SOPs, and packaging practices
- Collaborate with vendor managers, instock teams, and operations teams to improve quality processes
- Identify opportunities to reduce product damage, waste, and expiry rates
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and automation efforts
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation for quality tracking
- Bachelor's degree with knowledge of food quality or supply chain operations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high accuracy in reporting
- Familiarity with fresh produce markets and quality standards preferred
- Good communication skills for stakeholder coordination
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced operational environment
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends when required
- Knowledge of food safety standards and certifications such as HACCP or ISO is an advantage
