- Develop and implement a communication and marketing plan for CGSB that aligns with NYUAD’s strategic priorities
- Create, write, edit, and curate content for CGSB’s digital channels, including website, news items, research highlights, newsletters, and internal communications
- Translate complex scientific concepts into clear, engaging stories tailored to scientific, institutional, and public audiences
- Maintain and enhance CGSB’s digital identity, ensuring all content complies with NYUAD style and branding guidelines
- Lead CGSB’s bilingual social media presence (currently engaging 65,000+ followers), including content planning, post creation, scheduling, community engagement, and analytics
- Manage the development of visual and multimedia assets (graphics, videos, infographics, podcasts, VR content, etc.) to support campaigns, events, and outreach initiatives
- Maintain and update CGSB’s website (English and Arabic), including the virtual lab tour and digital outreach tools
- Monitor digital performance and provide regular reports with insights and recommendations for improvement
- Keeping and maintaining the center electronic content, including photographs, videos and podcasts
- Lead the communication and promotional aspects of CGSB events, such as the annual CGSB Conference, Fikret Science Café, seminars, workshops, school visits, and public engagement activities
- Coordinate event communication timelines, design and production of promotional materials (posters, banners, flyers, digital assets), and post-event coverage
- Work with the administrative team on logistics-related communication (invitations, RSVPs, attendee information, speaker bios, event summaries)
- Serve as the primary communications liaison for CGSB with NYUAD Public Affairs, relevant institutional offices, and external partners
- Support faculty, researchers, and students in communicating their research (advising on presentations, profiles, and stories)
- Contribute to the preparation of communication-related inputs for APRs, SAB reports, grant renewals, and other strategic documents
- Prepare and submit monthly center highlights and newsletters to relevant NYUAD departments, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of center activities and achievements
- Provide administrative support, including organizing files, maintaining documentation, scheduling meetings, and preparing meeting minutes
- Coordinate and organize meetings, including agenda preparation, attendee scheduling, and follow-up documentation
- Manage and maintain the center’s electronic content, such as photographs, videos, podcasts, and digital archives, ensuring proper organization and accessibility (including photo galleries and Google Drive management)
- Support communication and documentation needs by maintaining well-structured records and ensuring consistent information flow across the center
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media or a related field
- More than five years of experience in marketing, communications, or digital media, preferably in an academic, research, or non-profit environment
- Demonstrated experience managing social media channels and web content for an organization or brand.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and engagingly
- Experience in creating or coordinating visual and multimedia content (e.g. graphics, short videos, digital campaigns)
- Strong organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, interdisciplinary environment and to build strong working relationships with faculty, researchers, and administrative units.
- Proficiency in standard office and digital tools (e.g. MS Office, Google Suite, basic CMS, and social media management tools)
- Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
- More than one year experience in science communication or working with scientific/research content
- Knowledge of Arabic and experience producing bilingual content is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g. social media insights, web analytics) and basic SEO principles
