The Consultant Pediatric Emergency Physician is responsible for providing advanced emergency care to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring rapid diagnosis, effective treatment, and life-saving interventions in critical situations.Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency assessment and management for pediatric patients with acute medical, surgical, and trauma conditions
- Lead pediatric resuscitation including airway management, vascular access, and stabilization procedures
- Perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction, wound repair, and procedural sedation
- Coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists, and emergency teams
- Ensure efficient patient flow and safe operations within the pediatric emergency department
- Contribute to clinical pathway development, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, audits, and governance activities
- Mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff
- Communicate effectively with families during high-stress situations
- Engage in teaching, research, and continuous medical education programs
- Medical degree with specialization in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or related field
- Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or equivalent
- Minimum 8-10 years of post-specialization experience including consultant-level practice
- Eligibility for DOH or UAE licensing authority
- Strong expertise in pediatric resuscitation and emergency care
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
