The Senior Drainage Engineer - Design is responsible for leading drainage and stormwater system design across infrastructure projects in Dubai, UAE. The role supports project success by applying advanced hydrological and hydraulic analysis, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and delivering efficient, sustainable engineering solutions.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead drainage design for civil and transport infrastructure projects
  • Perform detailed hydrological and hydraulic modeling and analysis
  • Develop stormwater management systems including pipelines and cross drainage structures
  • Design hydraulic systems tailored to complex project environments
  • Apply sustainable drainage practices and water-sensitive design principles
  • Review technical designs, calculations, and engineering reports
  • Coordinate with CAD, BIM, and modeling teams for design delivery
  • Mentor junior engineers and support technical development within the team
  • Manage design approvals and maintain strong client relationships
  • Prepare detailed reports, drawings, and project documentation
  • Deliver innovative and value-engineered solutions to optimize project outcomes
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Hydrology
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in drainage and water engineering projects
  • At least 6 years of UAE or GCC experience with Dubai Municipality standards
  • Strong knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic design principles
  • Experience with modeling tools such as SWMM, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS
  • Proficiency in Infoworks ICM with 1D and 2D modeling capabilities
  • Advanced skills in GIS and CAD tools including ArcMap, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microstation
  • Ability to design complex drainage networks and pumping systems independently
  • Strong technical report writing and documentation skills
  • Chartered Engineer status or progress toward certification is preferred
