Senior Tunnel and Underground Structures Engineer - Parsons Corporation - Dubai, UAE

• Provide technical leadership for concept and preliminary design of bored tunnels, cut-and-cover tunnels, underground stations, and associated structures.
• Lead development of design solutions considering ground conditions, groundwater behavior, temporary works, and construction methodologies.
• Assess structural stability including uplift, flotation, soil-structure interaction, and settlement impacts.
• Prepare and review design assumptions, engineering calculations, and technical reports for underground works.
• Support feasibility studies, option assessments, and risk evaluations for metro infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with geotechnical, structural, civil, architectural, and systems teams to ensure integrated underground design.
• Review contractor and consultant designs to confirm compliance with international codes and project standards.
• Identify technical risks related to tunneling and underground construction and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Participate in stakeholder discussions and authority coordination related to underground infrastructure.
• Contribute to technical reviews and continuous improvement initiatives within the rail program.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Master's degree in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering required.
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience in tunneling and underground structures.
• At least 5 years of experience on metro or urban rail tunnel projects.
• Proven experience in design of cut-and-cover tunnels, underground stations, diaphragm walls, and deep excavations.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, groundwater control, and soil-structure interaction.
• Experience applying international codes and standards for underground works.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and technical review capabilities.

• Advanced tunnel engineering and underground structural design expertise.
• Geotechnical coordination and groundwater risk assessment.
• Concept design development with focus on constructability and safety.
