- Provide comprehensive emergency assessment and management for pediatric patients presenting with:
- Acute medical, surgical, and trauma conditions
- Respiratory distress, seizures, dehydration, infections, and allergic reactions
- Pediatric emergencies requiring resuscitation and stabilization
- Lead pediatric resuscitation efforts including advanced airway management, vascular access, and life‑saving interventions.
- Perform emergency procedures such as:
- Lumbar puncture
- Fracture reduction and splinting
- Wound repair
- Procedural sedation
- Coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists, and other emergency physicians.
- Ensure safe and efficient patient flow within the Pediatric Emergency Department.
- Contribute to the strategic development of pediatric emergency services.
- Develop and update clinical pathways, guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, audits, and clinical governance activities.
- Mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff.
- Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow‑up instructions clearly and compassionately to families.
- Promote a child‑friendly, culturally sensitive environment.
- Support families during high‑stress situations and critical decision‑making.
- Participate in teaching activities for medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Engage in clinical research, case presentations, and CME programs.
- Represent the department in conferences and community health initiatives.
- Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
- Board Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics with PEM fellowship, or Emergency Medicine with pediatric specialization (e.g., American Board, Royal College, Arab Board, or equivalent).
- Minimum 8–10 years of post‑specialization experience, including consultant‑level practice.
- Eligibility for Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH/HAAD) Consultant licensure.
- Strong clinical expertise in pediatric resuscitation, trauma, and acute care.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
