This position leads enabling works packages within a high speed rail programme, ensuring all preparatory construction activities are delivered efficiently. The role ensures alignment between design, procurement, and construction teams while managing stakeholder coordination and minimizing project risks.Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of enabling works from early stages to project handover
- Monitor contractor and consultant performance against programme timelines and cost targets
- Oversee design coordination and ensure readiness for construction phases
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Manage interfaces between enabling works and main rail construction packages
- Lead stakeholder engagement and maintain transparent communication
- Control contract execution including variations and change management
- Implement quality assurance procedures and monitor compliance through inspections
- Track project progress and report key milestones, risks, and performance indicators
- Develop and oversee project plans including safety, quality, and commissioning frameworks
- Identify potential delays or cost impacts and implement corrective actions
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with strong technical foundation
- Minimum 15 years of experience in rail or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Proven experience in enabling works within railway or transit projects
- Strong construction management and project delivery experience
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills
- Excellent communication and reporting capabilities
- Professional certifications such as PMP or equivalent are advantageous
