This role leads the execution of depot infrastructure within a major rail programme, overseeing all phases from design through construction and commissioning. The Senior Project Manager ensures alignment between technical delivery, stakeholder expectations, and contractual requirements across multidisciplinary teams.Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage depot project delivery from concept through completion
- Monitor contractor and consultant performance across schedule, cost, and quality benchmarks
- Oversee design coordination and preparation of tender documentation with required approvals
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Manage interfaces between depot systems and other rail project packages
- Lead stakeholder coordination and maintain clear communication channels
- Control contract delivery including change management and reporting processes
- Implement quality assurance practices and monitor compliance through inspections
- Track project progress and report milestones, risks, and performance metrics
- Develop and oversee key project plans including safety, quality, and commissioning
- Identify risks or delays and implement corrective action plans
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with strong technical background
- Minimum 15 years of experience in rail or major infrastructure projects
- Proven experience in depot design and construction within railway projects
- Strong understanding of construction management and project delivery frameworks
- Experience managing complex stakeholder environments and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong commercial awareness and financial management capability
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Professional certifications such as PMP or equivalent are advantageous
