Job Type: Full TimeJob OverviewThe Junior Sous Chef will support the Sous Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, maintaining quality standards, and mentoring junior staff. This role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional dining experiences at Jumeirah Al Naseem's upscale restaurants by ensuring consistency, creativity, and operational efficiency in the kitchen.What You'll Do
  • Assist in supervising culinary staff, ensuring food quality, presentation, and hygiene meet brand standards
  • Collaborate in menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen meetings with the Executive Sous Chef
  • Write and maintain accurate product specifications and standard recipes for system integration
  • Manage kitchen scheduling, monitor rosters, and ensure effective handling of overtime, leave, and absences
  • Coordinate with the Chief Steward to uphold cleanliness and kitchen compliance protocols
  • Provide training, encourage team engagement, and uphold the property's culinary standards
  • Step into cooking and plating duties as needed during service hours
Ideal Profile
  • UAE National as per official government criteria
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Junior Sous Chef or equivalent role in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant
  • Diploma in Catering or Culinary Arts; Health and Safety certification is a plus
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Opera PMS (Cloud), and HotSoS
