- Review designs, blueprints, specifications, work orders, drawings etc to plan daily fabrication requirements and prepare required machine(s)/equipment with design specifications to execute fabrication works
- Load and unload raw materials / shafts / plates using an overhead crane or JIB crane as per machine operating procedures whilst ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Detect and troubleshoot minor malfunctions with welding equipment/machines and portable tools by adjusting controls and closely monitoring work processes to ensure machines/equipment operate as per operational standards
- Ensure machine/equipment operating records are maintained and kept fully up to date as per Company policies and procedures and industry standards
- Conduct all preventative checks and assessments to ensure welding machine, bending machine, rolling machine, bandsaw machine are in good working order including but not limited to executing preventative maintenance requirements as per Company policies and procedures and operating manuals i.e. complete machine/tools checklist etc
- Review and validate measurements and dimensions of components with measuring tapes and digital calipers for mechanical fabrication and identify areas for hammering, cutting and heating to minimize / maximize tolerance levels
- Ensure product components are appropriately organized to ensure proper alignment by using a jack, vice script or other tools as and when required for mechanical fabrication purposes
- Handle furnaces or hand torches to heat materials to make them more flexible for bending or manipulation to ensure materials are produced as per the correct specifications
- Construct jigs, welding fixtures and special purpose machines (SPM) to meet production/operational requirements and ensure all fixtures are compliant with industry standards and specifications
- Assemble and dismantle PTM tools i.e. cross breaker, shovel, extracting tools etc as per established methods and techniques to support delivery of operational/production requirements
- Perform quality checks during and after fabrication works/production to ensure machine and production conformity to specifications and quality standards
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare with design/technical requirements to determine if the fabrication process has been completed in line with specifications, given tolerances, and quality standards
- Develop and maintain templates for common/recurring fabrication tasks to ensure fabrication works are completed in an efficient and effective manner and in accordance with quality standards
- Ensure compliance with all relevant (internal and external) regulations including HSEQ requirements using Company policies and procedures as appropriate
- Diploma or vocational certification in fabrication
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience
